ATI at the Game Developers Conference Europe

Innovate, Stimulate, Generate

Now in its fourth year, the Game Developers Conference Europe brings together game development professionals from Europe and further afield to share ideas and build the skills essential to creating the next generation of interactive entertainment.

GDCE is a unique dedicated environment for the European game developer community. In just three years it has grown to attract over 700 game designers, programmers, artists, producers and investors to share ideas and build lasting relationships.

The pace of change in the games industry is breathtaking. New platforms, new markets, new players and increasing demands on developers to produce an exceptional player experience present a crucial need to examine technical, production and business practice.

What are the issues facing developers with Hollywood-sized budgets and mega-team sized projects? How do you get to grips with the new platforms to start to plan your development approach? What are the challenges of online and mobile games development?

The key topics this year are:
  • Managing the risk associated with bigger teams and multiple projects
  • Delivering an ever more sophisticated AAA games experience in shorter time-scales
  • Managing the tight deadlines of delivering games tied to film release
  • Funding models: how they work, what they cost the developer and how they change the business model
  • Developing for PSP and Xbox2
  • Post-mortems on AAA games
  • Tutorials on leading games software tools for new platforms
