With extensive on-track signage and exhibit space located in
a high-traffic area, ATI was seen and SEEN BIG! People who know
ATI were very excited
to see us there and those who had never been exposed to ATI
were very happy to have discovered us at this event. The three
day attendance
at this event was 160,000.
ATI on-track signage:
The largest ATI on track banner was positioned by itself (no other
banner signage around it) on a perfect camera angle. Due to
the fact that the large ATI banner was placed in a corner at
the beginning of a straight-a-way, the banner had maximum exposure
to the TV camera shots. The camera would follow the cars out
of the corner until they accelerated well into the straight-a-way.
The banner appeared like it was a large bill board behind the
tiny Indy cars (Champ Cars), due to the optical illusion caused
by the combination of the banner angle and TV camera. The banners
were not only seen during the Molson Indy Vancouver television
coverage but could also been seen during the sports highlights
on TSN Sports Desk. Both the Indy coverage and the TSN Sports
Desk coverage was viewed by millions of viewers across North
America.
The ATI exhibit:
The 20' x 30' ATI exhibit contained the ATI Racing
Zone contest, two Radeon
X800 gaming pods and a lounge area with movies playing
on an ATI
All-in-Wonder 9800 PRO system. We also had our partners
from
BAWLS
energy drink in the ATI booth again giving out samples
of the BAWLS energy drink. The BAWLS staff was very busy as
thousands of people stopped by the ATI booth to sample this
hi-energy drink and get a co-branded ATI / BAWLS Frisbee. The
ATI Racing Zone once again hosted a three day competition for
the fastest lap as the winner would receive a Radeon X800 PRO.
The line never seemed to get below ten people deep as an estimated
2500 people lined up over the three days to participate in the
ATI Racing Zone contest. The ATI Racing Zone also received a
spot on CTV (Saturday July 24) after the CTV journalists had
been by that same afternoon to check out the ATI exhibit.
Other ATI promotions at the Vancouver Molson Indy:
ATI was also represented in the large Plaza of Nations concert
area / beer tent. ATI branded beach balls were tossed around
the concert area / beer tent on different occasions including
the large concert that took place at night and included the
band Default. ATI branded bags were also given out as they made
their way around the Indy grounds and could be seen in the stands,
paddock and even in the pits (see attached pictures). The ATI
Get In The Game girls stopped people outside the ATI exhibit
and branded them with ATI Get In The Game tattoos. People wearing
ATI tattoos were then stopped at random and given prizes, like
ATI back packs, ATI water bottles and ATI shirts. The ATI ground
graphics advertising the ATI Racing Zone at the ATI exhibit
were placed at strategic locations around the Indy grounds.
Other ATI banners also could be seen mounted on the fences around
the Molson Indy grounds (See attached pictures). ATI Also had
a draw for a ride in an Indy pace car. The lucky contest winner
received a ride around in the track in a Dodge Viper a speeds
of up to 140 mph.
