    • Beyond Better, Stronger, Faster: Innovating around Experiences

      Jim Allchin
Group Vice President, Windows Platform, Microsoft Corporation
      Tuesday, May 4, 8:45 AM – 10:00 AM; Hall4B

As an industry, we have done much to solidify the technical foundation of PCs and devices, which are faster, more powerful, and more reliable than ever before. Innovation is the best way to drive demand as well as higher margins. Our continued success depends not only on further technology advances, but on what we do to build personal value on top of the technical value we already deliver. To resonate with customers on a personal level, we must work together to deliver “experiences” that enhance their ability to manage and enjoy their daily pursuits and passions - those activities that involve family and friends, work, hobbies, community, education, and leisure time. Innovating around experiences will require that we evolve our traditional, engineering-based approach to designing our respective products into one that is person-based as well as technology-based. If we do so, we will capture a part of the economy that is currently growing around people’s aspirations for a higher quality of life and the great "experiences" that deliver it.
