    ATI announces support for Windows 2000: the latest business operating system from Microsoft

    The world's best video features and graphics

    Toronto, Ontario - ATI Technologies Inc. (TSE:ATY, NASDAQ: ATYT) today announced that it has software drivers available supporting the just-launched Windows 2000 operating system from Microsoft Corp., recommended as an upgrade for users of Windows NT 4.0.

    ATI has worked closely with the Windows 2000 team to ensure its products allow customers to take advantage of new features in Windows 2000 such as optimized Direct 3D gaming and high quality video delivery. As a result, ATI has taken a leadership role in bringing to market products that will take full advantage of Windows 2000.

    "ATI has always placed a high emphasis on its relationship with Microsoft," said Alfonse Licata, director of marketing and business development, ATI. "Working closely with Microsoft allows us to embrace new operating system advances to ensure our products take maximum advantage of these new features."

    The Microsoft Windows 2000 CD will include drivers for RAGE 128™, RAGE XL™, RAGE XC™, RAGE Pro™, RAGE LT Pro™, RAGE IIC™, RAGE II+™, RAGE II™ and Mach64/VT™.

    "Microsoft's Windows 2000 has been designed to deliver high reliability, enhanced security, and strong mobile business computing support," said David Marsh, Technical Evangelist - TV, Video, and Graphics, Microsoft Corp. "With the hardware graphics acceleration ATI's boards provide, business users will be able to take full advantage of the benefits of Windows 2000."

    The Windows 2000 CD that hits stores today will include drivers that support features like Direct X7.0, Direct 3D, 2D acceleration.

    Additional features like Open GL ICD drivers, and hardware assisted DVD will be supported by drivers available directly from www.ati.com. ATI mobile users will enjoy significant benefits with Windows 2000, especially in the area of power management. The Windows 2000-based drivers will feature enhanced features for ATI's Rage LT Pro and Rage Mobility family of mobile accelerators.
