Toronto,
Ontario - ATI Technologies Inc. (TSE:ATY, NASDAQ:ATYT) announced
today that Apple has chosen the RAGE Mobility 128™ for its new
PowerBook notebook.
The ATI RAGE Mobility 128 redefines mobile graphics and multimedia
performance. It is the world's fastest 2D, 3D and multimedia
graphics accelerator for corporate and consumer notebooks. The
RAGE Mobility 128's level of performance, for the first time,
provides true no-compromise desktop performance -- wherever
the user is, no matter at the office, at home or on the road.
The ATI RAGE Mobility 128 also brings consumer electronics quality
DVD playback to notebook PCs, with TV display quality the equivalent
of stand-alone DVD players.
"The ATI RAGE Mobility family continues to take the notebook
market by storm," said Bill Henry, director of mobile component
marketing, ATI. "The performance and feature enhancements of
the RAGE Mobility 128 further strengthen ATI's product lead
in the notebook segment, making mobile graphics the true equal
of desktop solutions."
About the RAGE Mobility 128, ATI's next generation mobile
accelerator
Based on the RAGE128 PRO™ graphics chip, ATI's latest desktop
accelerator, the RAGE Mobility 128 is the fastest and most complete
mobile graphics solution available on the market today. Comprising
a complete graphics subsystem on a single chip including 8MB
of video memory, the RAGE Mobility 128 offers a space saving
solution for notebooks while providing all the capabilities
of today's performance PCs.
The design advances of the RAGE Mobility 128 make it a true
desktop replacement, with remarkable multimedia capability,
all in true 32-bit color. Dual-Display support permits simultaneous
use of the computer system and an external monitor, with different
(or same) display contents, while the RAGE Mobility 128's integrated
MPEG-2/DVD decoder with iDCT and motion compensation enables
full frame rate DVD playback with very low CPU utilization.
The RAGE Mobility 128's high-quality TV-out solution produces
DVD playback the equal of stand-alone consumer electronic market
DVD players.
