Notebook to deliver industry-leading graphics
and video capabilities to European customers
Wednesday December 03,
2003
MUNICH / GERMANY - Dramatic
visual effects, unmatched performance and vibrant cinematic realism
are now available to Packard Bell notebook
users as ATI Technologies Inc. (TSX:ATY, NASDAQ:ATYT) today announced
that the Mobility™ Radeon® 9600 mobile visual processor
is currently shipping in the EasyNote M7 series notebooks by
Packard Bell, one of Europe’s leading notebook manufacturers.
The Mobility Radeon 9600 is the first mobile graphics processor
to ship with full hardware support for Microsoft DirectXTM 9.0.
It runs DirectX™ 9.0 graphics at full-speed, with full
image quality and color precision at all times – a requirement
for true-to-life cinematic special effects.
Packard Bell’s EasyNote M7 series notebooks will be powered
by ATI’s Mobility Radeon 9600 mobile visual processor with
64MB DDR RAM, an Intel® Pentium® 4M Processor with a
DVD-R/RW drive, and a 15.1” SXGA+ panel display.
“Packard Bell is a major player in the European market
and its selection of the Mobility Radeon 9600 is a significant
design win for ATI,” said Peter Edinger, Vice President,
ATI Technologies Europe. “Mobility Radeon 9600 is overwhelmingly
the graphics solution of choice for significant industry players,
concluded Mr Edinger.”
Mobility Radeon 9600 uses an extraordinarily efficient 3D core
delivering 12 pixel shader operations per clock cycle, and is
a multimedia powerhouse with comprehensive hardware acceleration
for encode, decode and de-blocking of MPEG-2 and streaming video
formats. The Mobility Radeon 9600 also extends ATI’s leadership
in notebook graphics power management, giving users both the
longest battery life and highest performance.
With the availability of Mobility Radeon 9600, ATI has extended
its leadership by bringing the highest performance, cinematic
realism and DirectX 9.0 graphics to all segments of the PC market – high-end
and mainstream desktop and notebook PCs.
