Asia Pacific Partner Program

ATI Asia Pacific Partner Program (APPP): Frequently Asked Questions

We hope the following information will help answer some of the questions your have about the new AMD:

ATI Asia Pacific Channel Partner Program - General

As an ATI APPP partner, can I still use the ATI Channel Partner Program portal?
The ATI APPP tool will continue to fully function as you currently use it until further notice. The timeline and strategy for integrating with AMD’s partner tools has yet to be determined.

If I am an ATI partner, will I have to register as an AMD customer?
At this time, please continue to use ATI’s APPP tool to access and manage your ATI APPP funds. We will provide you with more details by December 2006.

What are the main changes I can expect due to the integration of ATI and AMD (with respect to APPP)?
We are in the process of working with AMD to evaluate our partner program. More details will be available to you in the months to come. We value our partnerships with our channel partners and wish to continue to do business with you.

What is the process if I am an AMD channel partner and I am also an ATI channel partner?
We are in the process of evaluating the ATI channel partner program as we work with AMD to integrate our programs. There may be opportunities for partners that sell both AMD and ATI products. In the meantime, please continue to work separately with your ATI and AMD contacts to plan and execute your MDF activities. We will provide you with more details by December of this year.

Funding

How can I claim my ATI accrued funds?
Please continue to claim your accrued funds as you do today. If you have any questions, please contact your ATI regional APPP administrator. For APAC, please email apsupport@ati.com. All claims will be processed as usual and will take approximately 6 weeks for payment to be made.

Am I going to lose my funding?
Unless otherwise specified, all partners accrued funds up to and including August 31, 2006. Your ATI MDF funds are only active for 6 months from the purchase date. You must spend the APPP funds you have accrued up to and including August 31st before February 28, 2007.

I received a letter indicating that I have till February 28th, 2007 to spend my accrued funds. Is that date changing?
The date has not changed. Please spend all APPP funds that you have accrued up to and including August 31st, 2006 before February 28, 2007. You will have to submit your claims before April 30, 2007.

When is the last day to claim my APPP funds for past activities?
ATI requires that you submit your APPP claim no later than 1 month after the activity is complete. Please note the following important dates:

August 31, 2006 Final day for customers to accrue funds under the ‘old’ APPP
October 13, 2006 Final day for customers to submit purchase data up to and including Aug 31, 2006
February 28, 2007 Final day for customers to spend their accrued APPP funds
April 30, 2007 Final day for customers to submit claims against their accrued funds

I am currently only an AMD partner and I would like to plan activities that support both ATI and AMD. How do I do this?
At this point, the funding for each partner program is not merged and remains separate. We are open to suggestions on how to market the “new AMD” so please communicate your ideas directly to your regional contact. We will provide you with more details as the programs are integrated.

APPP tool and MDF

Have ATI’s APPP MDF guidelines changed?
Yes, ATI’s MDF guidelines are in the process of changing. Please work with your regional administrator for all APPP activities. They will ensure your activities are in line with ATI’s requirements.

Who will be my point of contact for MDF activities moving forward?
Please continue to communicate with your regional sales manager and/or APPP administrator to plan and execute APPP activities with your accrued MDF funds.

Do I have to continue to submit purchase data (POS data)?
Yes, as an ATI channel partner we expect you to continue to upload your purchase data. The purchase data can be accessed via ATI’s APPP tool. For more information, please contact your regional administrator.

How do I access ATI Marketing materials, logos and templates?
Please refer to the current ATI APPP tool to access all ATI-related Marketing materials. If you are unable to locate the materials you need, please contact your regional administrator.

What will happen to AMD and ATI’s existing partner agreements?
ATI and AMD's existing agreements will not be affected by the merger. Each ATI sales contract will continue through the end of its current term.

Finance

Do I send payments to ATI or AMD for purchase of ATI products?
Please continue to work with your regional administrator to submit your purchase data. Please continue to upload your purchase data as you do today – ATI partners please use the APPP tool. AMD partners, please follow the process as you currently do today.

If I have open credits with both ATI and AMD, can I combine the credits together for future businesses?
Please note that your credit with each company (ATI or AMD) will remain unchanged for each business. You can only apply the credit for the part of the businesses the credit was originally granted for, i.e., credit granted by ATI cannot be used against purchases of AMD products.

If I have an overpayment with ATI, can I use it to offset the AMD purchases?
Unfortunately, the overpayment will have to be settled by ATI and cannot be used to offset AMD purchases.

Should I pay collectively to one account instead of paying to AMD and ATI separately?
Currently, payment to AMD or ATI invoices must be paid separately to the original account as you have done in the past. We will advise you accordingly if the process changes.

If I have two different payment terms to AMD and ATI, which one should I adopt?
The customer should stick to the original payment terms as outlined by AMD or ATI. Please continue with the payment terms as outlined in the AMD and/or ATI contracts.

Brand

How will the merger affect ATI and AMD’s respective brands?
Overall, AMD is the corporate brand supporting both AMD and ATI processor technologies. The ATI brand will continue to exist for certain product lines and we will provide you with more details shortly.

General

I have a question that is not listed here. Where can I get more information?
