Dynamic Bump Mapping on Radeon®

Figure 1 - Dynamic EMBM Reflections on Globe

The sample RadeonDynamicEMBM renders a cubic environment map per frame, which is then rendered into a spherical reflection map. Environment Mapped Bump Mapping can then be used through Radeon® to achieve dynamic viewer independent EMBM reflections. Figure 1 shows a bumped globe.

RadeonDynamicEMBM Controls
  • Left Drag - Rotate World
  • Right Drag - Mode Up/Down/Left/Right
  • Middle Drag - Move Forward/Back
  • T - Toggle diffuse texturing on/off
  • E - Toggle environment map on/off
  • B - Toggle bump map on/off
  • S - Show the sphere map being generated
  • [SPACE] - Advance Frame-by-frame
  • [ENTER] - stop advancing Frame-by-frame
  • [ESC] - Quit

Note: For expected performance, use the retail version of D3D.
