ACON5 goes beyond a chance to claim the ultimate
PC gaming “bragging rights”-we are talking
world domination here! ACON5 is billed as the most
exciting gaming spectacle of 2005, a tournament of
global proportions where players will battle it out
in over 16 countries and territories for the chance
to compete in the ACON5 Grand Finals held in Xian,
China on June 3rd, 2005. Sponsors ABIT, ATI , Intel,
LG, Corsair, Creative, Zalman, Thermaltake, Auravision,
and NewEgg have put together this exclusive gaming
series, providing awesome prizes and high-performance
gaming gear.
Battle the “best of the best!”
This year’s ACON5 Grand Finals in Xian,
China will host the “best of the best”
winning teams and players from 16 countries. All ACON
5 systems will be equipped with ATI Radeon® X800
or Radeon®
X850 graphics cards to enable the fastest game
play. ACON5 is focused on just two games: Warcraft™
3 and Counter-Strike™ 1.6. “In Asia, single-player
strategy games like Warcraft 3 are quite popular,
while in North America team-based first-person-shooters
like Counterstrike are more popular,” says Harry
Yen of ABIT, “A global tournament like ACON5
gives both kinds of players a chance to make PC gaming
history!”
Become a Champion
ACON5 Qualifying Tournaments are open to PC gamers
of all skills over 18 years old, with registration
details at the ACON5 website. The qualifying ACON
regional events are being held in four places in North
America: New York, Chicago, Irvine, California, and
Dallas, Texas. In each one of the qualifying tournaments,
a winning team and a winning player will move on to
the national finals for an all-expenses-paid tournament.
Champions from each qualifying ACON regional event
win the chance to represent their region at the national
finals, then on to the Grand Finals in Xian, China.
Worldwide media will be in attendance at Grand Finals
assuring the players of being in the spotlight of
global attention!
