New ATI Driver UI: The Catalyst Control Center
“The first thing that we noticed (aside from the skin) about the CCC is just how clean and simple it is. We do prefer a consistent UI look and feel, but the layout of and obviousness of where everything is helps immensely in getting around.”

“The 3D preview alongside each setting is nothing short of revolutionary in terms of making very complex functionality intuitive. Whenever we have to go back and explain Anisotropic filtering and Antialiasing, we have difficulty getting across exactly what the settings mean visually, even if we can communicate exactly what's going on in the hardware.”

“Our final thought is that the Catalyst Control Center fits in very well with what consumers need from a graphics driver UI in order to get the most from their card.”

“It’s not often that we do a write-up on a new driver software package for video cards. We only cover the major releases that will have a significant impact on end users. This is one of those times.”

“This is the biggest control panel upgrade ATI has ever done, greatly outdoing the original Catalyst Control Panel introduced back in 2002. We have been helping test this software package with ATI and are glad to say ATI has addressed and fixed all of the bugs we reported to them, making this release very solid.”

Beyond 3D
“In all Catalyst Control Center provides a fresh, interesting look to ATI's driver control panel options and also immediately introduces some useful new functionality for ATI users. Hopefully ATI will introduce the rest of the features promised quickly and the provided SDK will see board vendors and enthusiasts adopt it to by providing more plug-ins for even greater control and functionality.”

Catalyst Control Center – a new way to control your ATI graphics card
“… with the new ATI Catalyst Control Center we have a refreshing, exciting, innovative and versatile graphics card driver control panel which should really scare the blazes out of nVidia. It is far more superior to the aging nVidia driver control panel and if nVidia don’t develop something similar they will likely get left behind in this department.”

“Real time preview …  is a good idea by the folks at ATI - nVidia will have to put their serious thinking caps on to think of something better.”

“In our opinion, up until now nVidia has always had a better drive control panel with more options but this has all been blasted out the window with the release of the Catalyst Control Center by ATI. ”

ATI Catalyst Control Center
CCC’s biggest strength is its customizability that will allow users to add components they desire, AIB vendors to package all their utilities into one central interface and ATI to easily add-on new features in an intuitive manner.”

“In terms of the principles of a basic User Interface ATI’s CCC has done great job in meeting it. CCC has an aesthetically pleasing design that has the ability to cater to both the novice and advanced users. The design is clear, provides useful illustrations and valuable descriptions. ”
