"ATI have steadily been improving their software package for some time now. Before this release ATI were already known as industry leaders in the driver department. Catalyst 3.8 has taken the solid base from 3.7 and enriched it beyond anything anyone could have anticipated. From general ease of use (uninstaller) to added functionality ( MMC - file player enhancements) to performance enhancement (Overdrive) the additions are excellent. Then we have the revolutionary feature - VPU Recover. Can you imagine all device drivers with this feature? Your PC would almost never fail from a hardware concern! If nothing else ATI should be applauded on this feature alone. Performance, features, stability and quality, Catalyst 3.8 has them all. And more importantly it has them all in abundance."

"For those using NVIDIA cards, I would expect similar features in the near future (although I'm just guessing). NVIDIA has struggled with their drivers lately (especially with the comparatively poor performance of DirectX 9 on its current hardware), so something like this latest Catalyst Suite would certainly help them out."
