Canadian Free-to-Air HD Channel Availability
As HDTV grows in popularity in Canada, more
and more Canadian TV stations are broadcasting ATSC Free-to-Air (HD) signals.
There are currently 15 known stations broadcasting ATSC (HD) signals across
major metropolitan areas in Canada. Furthermore, those who live in close proximity
to the US border may be able to pick up HD stations which spill over into Canada
from the United States, adding additional HDTV content to your TV lineup.

In Canada, the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission
(CRTC), has set August 31, 2011 as the date that free-the-air analog TV transmission
service will cease in most parts of the country, with new regulations requiring
broadcasters to switch to free-to-air Digital TV (ATSC).
TV Wonder HD PCTV tuners are fully capable of receiving ATSC broadcast television
stations today, and are hardware ready for the digital TV transition both
in USA (set for February 17, 2009) and Canada without the need of any DTV
converter boxes.
