Q5: How can I measure the ATI FireGL4's 3D performance?

  • For OpenGL, you can use the VIEWPERF Test. Download it at the following website: http://www.specbench.org/gpc
  • You can find the sample file "gearduck.max" in 3D Studio Max. This sample file contains an animated rubber ducky being "fricasseed" between two cogwheels. If you run the animated sequence as a preview, then it should run twice as fast with 3D hardware support than with software support.
Important: The option "Real Time" should not be activated in the "Time Configuration" under "Play", and "PAL" should be selected under the FrameRate
