Performance
ATI's RAGE Mobility family provides exceptional performance notebook graphics as measured by 2D/3D WinBench frame rates in 3D and DVD, and CPU utilization for DVD. 2D performance is 30 to 60 percent faster than competitive products, and 3D performance is three to ten times faster. Software DVD playback is performed at full frame rates with very low CPU utilization, even on a Pentium II 266MHz system*.
Rather than concentrating on intermediate measures such as triangles/sec, bandwidth and bus width, which often do not translate into usable performance, ATI focused and improved overall 2D, 3D and DVD performance that is meaningful to the application.

Low Power Consumption
With power savings from integration of memory, LVDS, TV-out, DVD, plus comprehensive power management features such as ACPI/On Now and block-by-block activity-based power control, the RAGE Mobility has state-of-the-art low power consumption. Its high functionality/performance also saves overall system power of up to 7 Watts by off-loading the CPU.

Space Savings
Delivering a complete solution, RAGE Mobility includes dual LVDS transmitters, hardware MPEG-2 decoding with iDCT, TV-out with Macrovision 7.01, and effective EMI reduction of up to 10dB. RAGE Mobility M1 also includes 8MB of memory with all of the above in a single BGA package.

Best Quality
Innovative ratiometric expansion enables source images to fit any panel resolution up to 1280x1024 with the best quality in the market. Displays free of static artifacts, flicker and swim are provided for STN panels by the most optimized algorithm in true color (24-bit). RAGE Mobility is PC98/PC99 compliant, and includes TV-out with six-tap, flicker-free filter and YUV passthrough mode for optimal quality.

Proven Software
ATI's mobile drivers benefit from single source based software for the entire RAGE based family of controllers by leveraging from proven same-generation desktop products. RAGE Mobility supports every major OS and environment, including Win98 and Win NT. The software provides comprehensive API support, including DX5, DX6, OpenGL, and others, as well as extensive BIOS support. ATI software is localized into 19 languages.
