Features
Xilleon 220
- Set-Top-Wonder Xilleon incorporates the Xilleon
220 ASIC, which integrates the following features:
-
- 300 MHz MIPS® CPU
- Multiple transport demultiplexors
- Multistandard conditional access
- Dual analog video inputs
- High speed memory interface
- Dual high-definition or multiple standard-definition
video decode
- High performance 2D/3D graphics
- Audio decode
- Dual multi-standard TV output
- I/O including PCI, USB, EIDE, IR, I2C, I2S, flash,
and Flexbus
PCI support
Set-Top-Wonder Xilleon contains a PCI bus with three PCI
expansion slots for developers to plug in PCI cards such as
Ethernet,
cable or xDSL modems, and MPEG-2 encoders.
Memory subsystem
Set-Top-Wonder Xilleon has 64 Megabytes of DRAM and 10
Megabytes of flash memory. Manufacturers can implement more
or less
memory
as needed.
NIM modules
Set-Top-Wonder Xilleon has two NIM (Network Interface
Module) slots that allow developers to create their own front-end
modules
for the target network. For example, a satellite set-top manufacturer
might design a NIM with a satellite tuner and QPSK demodulator,
while a cable manufacturer might design a NIM with a cable
tuner, QAM demodulator, and analog video decoder.
Video / Audio
A unique feature of Xilleon 220 is its dual display engine
that allows one set-top box to drive two TVs with separate
programming,
lowering equipment costs for network operators and consumers.
Set-Top-Wonder Xilleon supports both primary and secondary
audio/video
channels and supports SCART, composite, s-video, component,
S/PDIF and DVI interfaces.
Smart cards
Set-Top-Wonder Xilleon supports multiple smart card interfaces.
Both 3V and 5V standards are supported, as are synchronous
and
asynchronous cards. The interfaces are directly compatible
with the ISO-7816, GSM11.11 and EMV specifications.
Disk drive
Xilleon 220 supports the EIDE standard for interfacing to hard
disk drives, CD ROMs and DVD ROM devices. Set-Top-Wonder
Xilleon
implements a standard EIDE connector, which allows the connection
of up to two EIDE devices.
USB
Set-Top-Wonder Xilleon integrates a single USB 1.1 controller
with two USB ports. Both ports are accessible via a USB header.
Other I/O
Multiple serial ports, I2C ports, and IR input/output ports
are also available, as is a 1394 interface.
