Q1: What
is new about the ATI-TV WONDER?
A1: ATI-TV
WONDER is now shipping with new software that incorporates new features
as well as a new user interface (UI). The key new features include:
1. Real time MPEG-1 encoding 2. Digital VCR 3. New ATI Multimedia Center User Interface (UI) 4. Video CD support through the UI 5.
Audio CD support through the UI 6. Teletext
Q2: Can
the new version of the software (version 2.0) be downloaded from
ATI's web site?
A2: No
it cannot. Due to software licensing issues, ATI can not offer
this software as a download from our web site.
Q3: Does
this software work with ATI-TV boards?
A3: No
it does not. This software was designed for the ATI-TV WONDER and
is not compatible with the ATI-TV (PCI).
Further details
on MAXX technology are proprietary and ATI is not able to
disclose.
Q4: What
video player and software should I use if I have the ATI-TV (PCI)
product?
A4: The
current ATI Video Player software should be used but, ATI-TV boards
are not compatible with RAGE FURY PRO. They no longer have AMC or
VIP connectors on the graphics board.
Q5: With
what graphics cards is ATI-TV WONDER compatible?
A5:
ATI-TV WONDER is compatible with all graphics cards that support overlay.
However, due to the number of graphics cards available in the market,
ATI can not test each and every one. Here is the list of graphics cards
and chips tested:

- S3 Virge DX

Is
the ATI-TV WONDER compatible with TNT2, GeForce256, Voodoo3,
S3 Savage, Matrox G400 based graphics boards?
A6: All
of them, except G400 (Testing hasn't been completed for G400)

what formats can I capture MPEG-1?
A7:
MPEG-1 video capture resolutions supported are:
- 352 x 288 (PAL)
- 352 x 240
- 320 x 240
- 240 x 176
- 176 x 144
- 160 x 128
- 80 x 64

What video capture
formats does the new software support?
A8: The
new software supports:
- MPEG-1
- ATI VCR 1.0
- YUV 12
- YUV 9
- 15-bit RGB
- 24-bit RGB
- 32-bit RGB
Q9: What
is TV WONDER's still capture resolution & what are the formats?
A9: ATI-TV
WONDER's still capture resolutions are up to 1024x768 and formats
are standard, including BMP, JPEG and TIFF.
Q10:
What audio formats
do you support during capture?
A10: We
support audio formats ranging from 11.025KHz, 8-bit mono to 44.1KHz
16-bit stereo. The audio capture can vary depending on the video
captured.
Q11: Can
I use the ATI-TV WONDER and RAGE FURY PRO boards together?
A11: Yes.
Q12: Can
I capture with both products? If not which one?
A12: No.
You can capture with ATI-TV WONDER.
Q13: Does
the ATI-TV WONDER support AVI & MPEG-2 capture formats?
A13: AVI
capture is supported, but not MPEG-2.

What TV standards
are supported by ATI-TV WONDER?
A14: ATI-TV
WONDER is available in versions for:
- NTSC, PAL M & PAL
N (North America, Brazil, Argentina & Japan)
- Secam L, PAL
B/G (France)
- Secam D/K,
PAL B/G/D/K/I (Europe, Australia and New Zealand)
Q15: Will
ATI-TV WONDER support Windows 2000 when released?
A15: ATI
is in the process of developing drivers to support Windows 2000.
ATI plans to release drivers soon after Windows 2000 is released.
