Compact, All-inclusive Mobile Accelerator
The ATI RAGE Mobility 128 is a 4th generation mobile accelerator,
and introduces ATI's proven Super-Scalar Rendering Engine
from ATI's RAGE 128 PRO desktop accelerator. It delivers the
world's fastest 2D, 3D and multimedia graphics subsystem on
a compact, 31mmx31mm, 345-pin BGA package with a feature set
that is the most comprehensive in the industry, saving space,
power and cost. The new RAGE Mobility 128 extends the performance
standards set by ATI's RAGE Mobility family of graphics accelerators
while providing industry-leading solutions for all critical
mobile characteristics.
Fastest 2D and 3D
The RAGE Mobility 128's fastest 2D & 3D performance is a direct
result of its dual-piped, 128-bit, Super-Scalar rendering
engine, which processes two pixels for each clock cycle, thereby
providing twice the performance of single-piped solutions.
In 3D, this improves performance by combining 3D effects such
as texturing and lighting or shading on a single pass (Single-Pass
Multi-Texturing).
Ultimate DVD/TV Encoder
The on-chip MPEG-2/DVD decoder with iDCT and motion compensation
enables full frame rate DVD playback with very low CPU utilization,
thereby extending battery life. The visual quality is equal
to that of DVD players available in the consumer electronics
market, thanks to the 10-bit TV-encoder with 6-tap vertical/10-tap
horizontal filters. The TV encoder supports both NSTC and
PAL video formats, and complies with Macrovision 7.01 video
copy protection standard.
On-Chip Digital Panel Scaling
RAGE Mobility 128's built-in filtered ratiometric expansion
circuitry smoothly scales source images of up to 1280x1024
to fit any panel resolution up to 1600x1200. This is absolutely
the best quality, host based scaling available in the PC industry.
Integrated LVDS/TMDS with Spread Spectrum
RAGE Mobility 128 offers both a dual-channel LVDS interface
(112MHz) and a completely independent TMDS transmitter (165MHz)
each capable of driving UXGA displays simultaneously. The
on-chip spread spectrum circuitry can be used with either
LVDS or TMDS transmitters to minimize EMI when driving larger
LCD panels. The TMDS transmitter complies with all VESA and
DDWG specifications.
Dual Display/16MB FB
RAGE Mobility 128's integrated dual CRT controller supports
up to two, completely independent UXGA displays with different
(or same) display contents and/or display parameters. Since
driving two independent displays requires double the frame
buffer, the RAGE Mobility 128 allows for up to 16MB of frame
buffer to fully support the dual display features at maximum
resolutions.
Best Choice for Corporate Notebooks
 |
With stunning 2D/3D performance coupled
with the most comprehensive mobile features, the RAGE
Mobility 128 offers the best graphics solution on
a single chip for true, desk-top replacement notebooks
and portable workstations. For the first time, corporate
users can run a powerful 3D CAD application and a
demanding 2D application simultaneously on two large
UXGA displays from a notebook. |
Ideal Choice for Consumer and Multimedia Notebooks
RAGE Mobility 128, with its high performance 2D/3D acceleration
combined with its most comprehensive multimedia and mobile
features satisfies all the demands of a multimedia enthusiast.
It allows users to play fast 3D games, enjoy high quality
DVD movies, browse the Internet, or run business applications
without compromising performance or features no matter where
they are - in the office, at home, or on the road. |
